Itinerary
Depart from Nairobi at 07:00hrs through central Kenya to Nanyuki town where you meet with poters drive for 22km to the town of Timau. You continue northwestwrds crossing the equator and on to the School of Adventure the base of Mt. Kenya trail at 2900m where the hike start to Marania campsite at (3300m) in middle of the moorland leaving behind a beautiful forest inhabited by a variety of wildlife for dinner and overnight
After breakfast Continue for 6hrs hike through plenty of high altitude plants like lobelia and senecia to majors camp for dinner and overnight
After breakfast proceed towards the scenic of terere and sedeo peaks to simba tarn camp 4600m for dinner and overnight
Early morning tea and biscuits for the summit attempt point lenana 4895m and back to simba tarn camp for full breakfast descend down to chongoria route to chongoria camp for dinner and overnight
After breakfast walk for 2hrs through bamboo forest where you meet the car to chongoria town and transport back to Nairobi where the trip ends.
